WALLENSTAM: Long-awaited construction start of Älta's cultural quarter
Wallenstam is continuing the development of central Älta and today officially started the construction of the Älta Torg Kv. 2 project. It will become the area's dynamic cultural quarter featuring a new cultural center, a library, a modern youth recreation center and 50 apartments ranging in size from studio to 1 bedroom units. The groundbreaking ceremony was held today by the Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board in Nacka, Mats Gerdau together with Hans Wallenstam, CEO of Wallenstam.
"It is really great to now start another new construction project in central Älta, a dynamic center block where culture, activities and housing will interact in a nice way," says Hans Wallenstam, CEO of Wallenstam.
"This is a long-awaited construction start and something that I think many Älta residents are really looking forward to in many ways. New, wonderful and larger premises right in the center of Älta with culture in focus," says Mats Gerdau, Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board in Nacka Municipality.
The architect for Älta Torg Kv. 2 is Semrén & Månsson and the construction will be carried out on a turnkey basis by Kungsmontage.
In the development of Älta as a whole, the ambition is to connect the square with existing residential areas and create natural and inviting meeting places based around culture, services and retail. A center, which will be outward-looking and accessible offering a lot more services and life.
By the end of the year, the first tenants will move into Älta Torg Kv. 1, which Wallenstam started in 2021.
