Inside Information: Lamor completes Group Leadership Team renewal – Jesus Pelayo appointed SVP for South and North America and Richard Hill appointed COO
Lamor has completed the renewal of its Global Leadership Team by appointing Jesus Pelayo as SVP, South and North America market area as of 1 January 2025 and Richard Hill, who has been with the company since 2021, as Chief Operating Officer as of 13 November 2024. Both will also become members of Lamor's Group Leadership Team.
Streamlining the organisation with the appointment of the Chief Operating Officer
All of Lamor's operational and sales support functions will be consolidated under the Chief Operating Officer to streamline the organisation and more effectively support profitable growth.
“We have already reinforced our Group Leadership Team with the appointments of two new market area SVPs to strengthen customer and market understanding. Now, we are implementing the necessary changes also in our operational and sales support functions to accelerate growth,” says Johan Grön, CEO of Lamor.
“The unit led by Richard will be holistically responsible for Lamor's product and service portfolios, sourcing, project management, marketing, and tendering activities. By combining these functions into one organisation, we can ensure customer-centricity and better internal coordination. Richard has extensive experience at Lamor in customer relations, business, and product development. His strong commercial and technical background makes him an excellent person to lead our operations.”
Richard Hill has served as a Service Manager in a three-year project with the Saudi Arabian National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC), which was successfully completed at the end of September. Since May this year, he has been responsible for Lamor's environmental protection services portfolio. Previously, Hill has served in several leadership roles in international oil spill response service companies.
New market area SVP has strong sales background in Central and South America
Jesus Pelayo, appointed SVP for South and North America, has over 20 years of experience in demanding sales leadership roles at Outotec and Outokumpu. Since 2021, he has served as Vice President of Key Accounts for Mexico and Central America at FLSmidth Inc.
The current SVP, Santiago Gonzalez, will retire as planned but will remain with Lamor in an advisory role to ensure a seamless transition.
“Santiago expressed his desire to retire some time ago, and we have now found a good successor for him. Jesus has a strong sales background and is known for his ability to develop his team and key customer relationships. Additionally, Jesus has extensive experience in land and water remediation,” says Grön.
“Santiago deserves our warmest thanks for his long and successful career at Lamor, during which he has steadily expanded our business in South and North America. I wish him a happy retirement after the transition period.”
