Goodtech, a leading provider of control and automation technology, is thrilled
to announce its partnership with Equinor for the international Offshore Wind
industry. Goodtech will provide SCADA and control room solution for the
Operation center of Empire Wind 1 farm, a bottom fixed offshore wind farm
located on the Outer Continental Shelf Offshore New York.
Empire Wind 1 is a groundbreaking project that will contribute significantly to
New York State's clean energy and climate objectives. With up to 147 wind
turbines, the Empire wind 1 will generate 816 MW of renewable energy, enough to
power over 500 000 New York homes.
Goodtech's scope of work for this project includes the delivery of a
comprehensive SCADA system for monitoring and controlling the wind farm, which
enables optimized energy production and access to continuous data-, control and
performance monitoring. The project will commence in June 2024, and is expected
to be completed during the summer of 2026.
"We are honored to be selected as the provider for Equinor's Empire Wind 1
farm," said Margrethe Hauge, CEO at Goodtech. "This project is a testament to
our expertise in the offshore wind industry and our commitment to driving
sustainable energy solutions."
The total contract value for Goodtech's involvement in this project is estimated
to be around 50 MNOK, further solidifying the company's position as a key player
in the offshore wind industry.
