Skanska invests in a residential development project in Helsinki, Finland. The total investment amounts to EUR 24M, about SEK 270M.
The residential development project consists of three buildings, 57 apartments and a parking hall. The project has the highest energy efficiency class, and it is aiming to receive the YL Environmental Classification.
The building utilizes a unique seasonal energy storage that uses sea water heated by the sun and the recycled heat of residential buildings. Due to the innovative energy solution the building's carbon footprint is almost zero during the usage phase. Additionally solar panels on the rooftop will help generate some of the electricity used by the property. The parking spaces are equipped with electric car chargers.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, and it is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
