Inwido's science-based targets approved
Inwido's science-based targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative.
By setting science-based targets, work towards further reductions in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) is ensured in line with the Paris Agreement's objective of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Inwido commits to reach net-zero GHG emissions across the value chain by 2050.
"We are proud that our climate targets have been validated by SBTi. It is an important milestone that shows our ambition to be a leader in sustainability for windows and doors in Europe. We have clear processes and plans in place to increase the pace of our transition," says Fredrik Meuller, President and CEO of Inwido.
Near-Term Targets
Inwido commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, and to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 25% within the same timeframe.
Long-Term Targets
Inwido commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2022 base year, and to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within the same timeframe.
About SBTi
Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF). The SBTi drives ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling companies to set science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
