Columbus: Initiates a strategic review, reports unaudited 2024 results, and provides 2025 guidance

Columbus

Today, Columbus reported unaudited results for 2024 and its new 2025 guidance, and a decision to initiate a strategic review, potentially leading to a change in ownership, merger, or other consolidation.

In 2024, Columbus delivered revenue of DKK 1,659m, corresponding to revenue growth of 8% compared to 2023. Organic growth amounted to 7%, slightly below its 8-10% guidance range. Despite comments about most geographical business units and business lines performing well, Columbus highlights that the Swedish business unit has been impacted by challenging market conditions, which led to project postponements or delays. However, Columbus also highlights that Q4 2024 closed with significant contract wins and a strengthened pipeline within its Swedish M3 business line.

The EBITDA margin reached 9.2% in 2024, within the guidance range of 9-10%, and an improvement from 7.6% in 2023.

Looking ahead to 2025, Columbus’ new guidance is organic revenue growth in the range of 7-9% and an EBITDA margin of 10-12% based on the company’s order book and pipeline forecast. In Columbus' New Heights strategy, Columbus has a goal of reaching an EBITDA margin of 15% by the end of 2026, implying a significant improvement from the current level.

Much attention is also on the announcement of a decision to initiate a strategic review following a successful transformation process from being an implementation company to a consultancy company. To accelerate its growth strategy, Columbus’ Board of Directors has engaged ATRIUM Partners as a financial advisor in connection with the strategic review, potentially leading to a change in ownership, merger, or other consolidation. This has led to a positive share price reaction in today’s trading.
